Mammalampa: Handmade Designer Lighting from Latvia

Mammalampa: do less to the material, and let light reveal it.

The Story

In Riga, a family studio led by designer Ieva Kalēja makes lamps from things that already have a story: paper braided by hand into The Bride, raw steel left to rust and gilded inside for The Queen, canvas painted in layers for The Sisters, and marble chips set with Swarovski crystal for The Duchess. Elle Decor counted Kalēja among the world’s ten most talented women designers in 2020, as reported by FOLD magazine, and her lamps light restaurants, offices and homes from London to Los Angeles. Each one is made by hand, to order, in Latvia, so yours will be the only one exactly like it.
