EO PLAY

EO PLAY is the Copenhagen design house’s love letter to childhood: iconic, playful objects that look as good to parents as they feel to kids.

The Story

Nicole & Tor Vitner Servé founded EO, for “Elements Optimal”, in Copenhagen in 2013. EO describes itself as modern, progressive and dynamic, with clean lines and a strong contemporary spirit. Its PLAY collection brings in independent designers and illustrators from Paris to Copenhagen and is made by skilled craftspeople with the best materials.

Questions We Hear Most

What is the story behind EO PLAY?

EO stands for “Elements Optimal”. Nicole & Tor Vitner Servé founded it in Copenhagen in 2013, and its PLAY line treats children’s objects as design: beautiful, playful and elegant, built to last for generations.

Which designers work with EO PLAY?

EO collaborates with independent designers worldwide. In our edit: Marc Venot (Elephant Night Lamp and Elephant Table), EO’s founders (Ice Cream and Balloon mirrors), and illustrators Les Graphiquants, Joachim Jirou-Najou, TWICE and Helkarava (the animal carpets).

Where else is EO PLAY sold?

According to EO, its pieces have been sold at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York, the MoMA Design Store, the Centre Pompidou, the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art shop and the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris.

Is EO PLAY only for children’s rooms?

Not at all. The mirrors, carpets and leather elephant lamp are just as at home in hallways, studios and living rooms, which is why they work as gifts for adults too.

Are EO PLAY pieces worth the price?

EO designs against fast, disposable kids’ products: leather, wool, beech, oak and glass, made to be passed on. Think of them as furniture and art for the room, not toys to outgrow.
