Humble – Rechargeable Lamps from Amsterdam

Humble is the Amsterdam studio that set out to replace the candle: rechargeable, cordless lamps with a warm glow that move from the dinner table to the terrace and back.

The Story

In 2018 Jorren Teertstra and his friends at APE Amsterdam, tired of tangled wires, designed the Humble One, a wireless lamp with a long-lasting battery under a signature bulb. Its approachable character named the brand. The range has grown into a family of lamps found in restaurants, hotels, cruise ships and homes, designed in Amsterdam’s Houthaven with replaceable parts so they last.

Questions We Hear Most

Why do restaurants use Humble lamps instead of candles?

No flame, wax or smoke, a warm candle-like glow, and one charge lasts many services. According to Humble, its lamps are used at hotels such as Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental and The Savoy.

How warm is the light from a Humble lamp?

Warm white, from 2200K on the One and Firefly to 2500K on the Air and Bug and 2700K on the Two, with three brightness steps on every lamp we sell.

Can a Humble lamp join my smart-home system?

The Humble Bug can: it runs on Zigbee 3.0 and works with Philips Hue, IKEA Trådfri and Tuya through a bridge.

Can parts of a Humble lamp be replaced?

Yes. Humble builds its lamps from modular parts, including the battery and the LED, so a worn part can be swapped instead of replacing the lamp.

How quickly will my Humble order ship?

In-stock Humble items leave our warehouse within 2–3 business days.
