House of Troy has been lighting American homes since 1947: first as a small custom lamp shop, and since 1960 as one of the best-known names in picture lights. Today it designs and builds in Hyde Park, Vermont.

The Design Story

House of Troy moved from Montreal to North Troy, Vermont, in the early 1960s and kept the town in its name. Its picture lights are still hand-rolled, soldered and buffed, and in 2013 it bought Scatchard Stoneware, the Hyde Park pottery behind its ceramic lamps.

What makes Scatchard stoneware lamps different?

Each base is thrown and glazed at Scatchard Stoneware in Hyde Park, Vermont, which House of Troy owns, so glaze tones vary slightly from lamp to lamp.

Will the finish I choose actually ship?

Yes. Stock is synced with House of Troy's warehouse every week and we only sell finishes it has on hand, so a sold-out finish simply can't be ordered.
