The Design Story
The table lamp brings Ieva Kalēja’s dream of a weightless paper lamp to eye level. The braid is made by hand in Latvia, and the tripod is kept thin so the shade seems to hover above the surface.
Ieva Kalēja, the Riga designer behind Mammalampa, was named by Elle Decor in 2020 among the ten most talented women designers in the world, as reported by FOLD magazine, and in 2026 she leads the product-design jury of Latvia’s National Design Award.
