The Bride Floor Lamp M by Ieva Kalēja for Mammalampa — a cloud of hand-braided paper on three slender legs, glowing beside your favorite chair.
Mammalampa’s braided paper shade, 23.6 inches across, standing 67 inches tall on a fine brass and steel tripod.
The Design Story
The Bride’s floating paper form needed little more than three fine legs to become a floor lamp. Ieva Kalēja kept the tripod slender, in brass and white steel, so the braided shade stays the focus. Like every Bride, the shade is braided by hand in Latvia and has its own pattern.
Ieva Kalēja, the Riga designer behind Mammalampa, was named by Elle Decor in 2020 among the ten most talented women designers in the world, as reported by FOLD magazine, and in 2026 she leads the product-design jury of Latvia’s National Design Award.
Why You’ll Love It
It turns an empty corner into the coziest spot in the room. The light falls softly through the paper, never harsh, and the tripod is so fine that the shade seems to hover. It plugs straight in, so you can move it from the living room to the bedroom whenever you like.
Made for Real Life
It plugs into a standard outlet and switches from an in-line switch on the cord. Use one E26 LED bulb up to 50W, and dust the paper with a soft brush now and then. Pairs beautifully with the The Bride grand floor lamp, The Bride table lamp and The Bride pendant.

Why We Love It
