The Queen Floor Lamp, Gold & Rust, by Mammalampa — a golden dome held high above the room on a single slender stem.
The Queen’s rust and gold, 80.7 inches tall: a floor lamp that reads as sculpture.
The Design Story
The Queen pairs the humblest face of metal with the most precious one. Outside, raw steel is left to corrode, and nature draws its own unpredictable patterns in the rust; inside, the dome is gilded by hand with 23.75-carat gold leaf from Manetti, the Florentine goldbeaters. Ieva Kalēja kept the form a pure half-sphere so the two surfaces speak for themselves.
Ieva Kalēja, the Riga designer behind Mammalampa, was named by Elle Decor in 2020 among the ten most talented women designers in the world, as reported by FOLD magazine, and in 2026 she leads the product-design jury of Latvia’s National Design Award.
Why You’ll Love It
It is a floor lamp with the presence of an artwork. The gold glows above eye level, warming the whole corner, and the rusted dome looks different in every light of the day.
Made for Real Life
Plug it in and switch it from the cord. It takes two E26 LED bulbs up to 50W each. At 46.3 lb it is stable; give it a clear corner of its own. Pairs beautifully with the The Queen double floor lamp, The Queen grand pendant and The Queen pendant.
