Soup Plates, Set of 6 in Lizzard Sunrise is Roberto Cavalli at the table: the house's print-driven glamour, rendered in fine bone china.
A set of 6, Ø 8.66 in (22 cm).
The Design Story
Lizzard Sunrise softens Cavalli's reptile skin into pastel sunrise colours, finished with 24k gold paint: glamour you can actually set a table with. Roberto Cavalli opened his house in Florence in 1970, made animal print his signature, and in 2012 took it home with the launch of Roberto Cavalli Home at the Salone del Mobile in Milan.
Why You'll Love It
The design does the decorating, so even a simple coffee looks considered. Bone china is lighter and whiter than ordinary porcelain, which makes the print read crisply. The 24k gold detailing catches candlelight beautifully. It mixes easily with plain whites or with other Cavalli patterns. And it carries the name of one of Italy's boldest fashion houses.
Made for Real Life
Made for soup, pasta and risotto. The distributor doesn't publish care instructions. We recommend washing by hand in warm, soapy water with a soft sponge, no abrasive pads, and no microwave (the 24k gold decoration). Avoid sudden temperature changes and stack with a cloth between pieces (our advice).
Worth Every Penny
Brought out twice a week for ten years, $630 comes to about $0.61 per use (our math). That is $105 per soup plate.
