The Design Story
Round, dark and calm. Aro is Vallvé's cylinder family, cast here in Graphite resin with a chrome ring, a color that reads almost like slate on a white or marble counter. Vallvé started in a rented São Paulo warehouse in 1962, when Catalan-born Josep Maria Sedó Vallvé began casting resin with metal, wood and acrylic on machines he built himself. His son Pedro Sedó took over in the 1990s, every piece is still made by hand, and Vallvé has won the Top of Mind Casa & Mercado award for bathroom boutiques since 2003.

Made for Real Life
A bathroom wastebasket with an open lid. A soft damp cloth with a drop of mild soap, then a dry microfiber cloth, keeps the resin bright. Skip scouring pads, bleach, acetone and solvents, and never put it in the dishwasher. Vallvé doesn't publish care instructions, so this is our advice.
