TR747 Pendant by Tom Rossau — a flock of birch paper planes caught mid-flight around a light.
The light warms each folded wing, so the whole flock glows from inside.
The Design Story
Tom Rossau designed the TR747 in 2016 from a childhood memory: folding paper planes with his grandfather. Each of the 32 planes is folded by hand from birch veneer. The studio began with an experiment: Tom Rossau pressed thin strips of wood into a cylinder to see how they would bend, and the harder he pressed, the more expressive the shape became. That experiment became the TR5 in 2005, and every lamp since has followed the same idea of flat material coaxed into sculpture, built by hand in Copenhagen.
