The translucent lamellas diffuse the light evenly, and the open base drops a gentle pool of light onto the table below.
The Design Story
With the TR31, introduced in 2023, Tom Rossau revisited an earlier idea and refined it: a shade suspended at an angle from a circular mount, so the form looks dynamic from every viewpoint. The studio began with an experiment: Tom Rossau pressed thin strips of wood into a cylinder to see how they would bend, and the harder he pressed, the more expressive the shape became. That experiment became the TR5 in 2005, and every lamp since has followed the same idea of flat material coaxed into sculpture, built by hand in Copenhagen.
