The Design Story

Pedro Sedó, who took over Vallvé from his father in the 1990s, drew the Cranium collection in 2018 around one image: the skull as a sign of renewal and of wisdom. In the Vintage pieces, a resin skull meets stainless steel and warm brass. Vallvé started in a rented São Paulo warehouse in 1962, when Catalan-born Josep Maria Sedó Vallvé began casting resin with metal, wood and acrylic on machines he built himself. His son Pedro Sedó took over in the 1990s, every piece is still made by hand, and Vallvé has won the Top of Mind Casa & Mercado award for bathroom boutiques since 2003.
