Original BTC Christie Pendant is a pendant light and made in England by the Oxfordshire lighting house founded by Peter Bowles in 1990.

The Design Story
The Christie’s rippling shade was inspired by ocean waves, and it takes skilled moulding to make bone china hold that rhythm. Every bone china piece is cast in Original BTC’s own Stoke-on-Trent factory, a multi-day process of pouring, drying, hand finishing and firing that gives the material its glow.
Why You’ll Love It
Lit, the waves turn into bands of light and shadow; unlit, it still reads as a piece of ceramic sculpture. Bone china is the signature of Original BTC: founder Peter Bowles was the first designer to use it for lighting, and it turns a lamp into a soft, translucent source of light.
Made for Real Life
An electrician connects it to a ceiling box. You choose the drop at installation. Switch it off, then dust it with a soft cloth or wipe with plain water and dry it well. Treat the shade like fine china, because it is.
