The Design Story
Aleksej Iskos and Boris Berlin founded Iskos-Berlin in Copenhagen in 2010, and Knit-Wit is their 2016 answer to a simple question: what if a lampshade were knitted rather than cut and sewn? Each shade is knitted in three dimensions, so its shape and texture come straight off the machine and no material is wasted.

The knit gives the lamp a tactile surface that reads like a textile, not a fixture. Switched on, light filters through the pattern and the shade becomes a warm, glowing volume. Switched off, the color and texture still work as a soft sculptural object. The range runs from quiet neutrals to deep colors, so one family can carry through a whole home.
Made for Real Life
Plan on a licensed electrician: the fixture connects to a ceiling junction box and is finished with its canopy. Our tip for the knit: switch the lamp off, then dust it with a soft, dry cloth; small marks can be spot cleaned with a little mild detergent.
