BORDA Oak Boards, Long or Round, by blomus

BORDA Oak Boards, Long or Round, by blomus — Solid oak cutting and serving boards with beveled edges and a hanging hole, in a long 18-inch and a round 12-inch shape.

Part of BORDA, the solid-oak cutting and serving boards from the German design house blomus.

The Design Story

studio blomus kept BORDA as simple as a board can be: solid oak, a soft bevel and a hole to hang it by. BORDA comes from studio blomus, the brand’s own design team in Sundern.

BORDA is solid oak with nothing added, a board that goes from chopping to serving without a change of clothes.

Why You’ll Love It

Oak looks warm and only improves with oil and use. BORDA moves from cutting to the table without a second board, and hung on the wall it becomes part of the kitchen.

Made for Real Life

The oak is untreated. Oil it regularly with sunflower, rapeseed, olive or walnut oil if it touches food, to protect it from stains and odors. Rinse with warm water and dry; do not soak it or put it in the dishwasher. Natural oak varies in grain and tone from board to board. Pairs well with the reversible oak board, oak mills and Parmesan grater.

Where It Shines

It looks at home hanging on a kitchen wall, carrying a baguette and butter to the table, under a pizza on a Friday night, or holding cheese and grapes on a terrace.

Questions We Hear Most

Long or round: which BORDA oak board should I choose?

Pick the long board for bread, baguettes and a row of cheeses; choose the round board for pizza and charcuterie.

Will the BORDA board darken over time?

Oak warms and deepens with oil and use; that patina is part of the appeal.

Can I hang the BORDA board as decor?

Yes, the hanging hole is designed for that, and a pair of boards on the wall looks great.

Which kitchen styles suit BORDA oak boards?

Scandinavian, farmhouse, Japandi and modern kitchens with natural materials.

Do BORDA oak boards make a good gift?

Yes, particularly with a bottle of good olive oil for the first oiling.

When will my BORDA oak boards leave the warehouse?

In-stock orders usually leave within 2–3 business days.

Why We Love It

Solid oak only gets better with use and oil, and BORDA is the board that proves it. From a small town in Germany’s old steel region, the Blome family has gone from bicycle parts (1921) to metal gifts (1961) to the design label blomus (2000), still family-run in its fourth generation. LoftModern is an authorized blomus retailer.
