Original BTC Banker’s Desk Light is a desk lamp and made in England by the Oxfordshire lighting house founded by Peter Bowles in 1990.
Wired for North America (120V AC).
The Design Story
The banker’s lamp is a 20th-century desk icon; Original BTC rethought it with a handmade bone china shade and precision-machined brass. Every bone china piece is cast in Original BTC’s own Stoke-on-Trent factory, a multi-day process of pouring, drying, hand finishing and firing that gives the material its glow.

It brings a library calm to a desk, with china glowing over brass. Bone china is the signature of Original BTC: founder Peter Bowles was the first designer to use it for lighting, and it turns a lamp into a soft, translucent source of light.
Made for Real Life
Plug it in at the desk and it is ready. Switch it off, then dust it with a soft cloth or wipe with plain water and dry it well. Treat the shade like fine china, because it is.
