San Francisco designer Peter Stathis is fascinated by how everyday objects shape the way we live. His award-winning designs are held by MoMA, Cooper Hewitt and the Denver Art Museum, and he has been a Pablo collaborator since the original Tube Top in 2006. Co-designer Matthew Boyko brought years of hands-on model making to the project.

The Design Story

Pablo Pardo founded Pablo Designs in San Francisco in 1993 to strip lamps down to their essentials. Superlight is that idea at its purest: Peter Stathis of Virtual Studio and San Francisco designer Matthew Boyko drew a task light as a single gestural line, precise yet playful. Mounted on the wall, the line floats free of any base at all.

Made for Real Life

It plugs in with a 9-foot cord, so there is no wiring to do; just mount the bracket securely. The integrated LED is rated for 50,000 hours and the lamp runs on 120–240V. Dust it with a soft dry cloth to keep it looking new.

No. It mounts with a steel bracket and plugs into a regular outlet with its 9-foot cord.

Can Superlight Wall replace a bedside lamp?

Yes, and it frees up the nightstand. Swing it over the bed to read, dim it down, then fold it back against the wall.

How warm is the light from Superlight Wall?

It is 3000K warm white at up to 700 lumens, and it dims all the way down.
