Superlight Floor Lamp by Pablo is a single line of aluminum that rises 47 inches, loops, and pivots on three axes to put warm, single-shadow light right where you read.
Designed by Peter Stathis and Matthew Boyko, it brings real reading-lamp performance to a corner without the bulk of a traditional floor lamp. Choose Black or White; both stand on a charcoal felt pad.
Meet the Designer

Designed by
Peter Stathis and Matthew Boyko
San Francisco designer Peter Stathis is fascinated by how everyday objects shape the way we live. His award-winning designs are held by MoMA, Cooper Hewitt and the Denver Art Museum, and he has been a Pablo collaborator since the original Tube Top in 2006. Co-designer Matthew Boyko brought years of hands-on model making to the project.
The Design Story
Pablo Pardo founded Pablo Designs in San Francisco in 1993 around one idea: reduce a lamp to what it really needs. Superlight takes that idea to its limit. Peter Stathis, founder of the industrial design studio Virtual Studio, and San Francisco designer Matthew Boyko drew the task light as a gestural line in space, a precise yet playful structure that seems to defy gravity. The floor version stretches that line into a tall, calm stem, so the same featherweight arm can reach over a lounge chair.
Why You’ll Love It
It moves the way you read: the stem swivels all the way round, the arm sweeps through 270° and the head tilts down to the page, and everything stays where you leave it. The light is warm, dimmable and casts one clean shadow. From across the room it reads as a fine pencil line rather than a piece of furniture, which keeps small living rooms and bedrooms feeling open.
Made for Real Life
The integrated LED is rated for 50,000 hours, so there are no bulbs to hunt for. The 9-foot cord reaches an outlet behind most chairs, and the 120–240V rating means it can travel abroad with only a plug adapter. It ships flat-packed and goes together at home. Dust it with a soft dry cloth to keep it looking new.

Where It Shines
Beside a lounge chair in a reading nook, behind the arm of a sofa, next to a bed in a small room, or over a sewing or craft chair. It shares its look with the Superlight Desk Lamp and Superlight Wall; for a floor lamp with a bolder profile, see the Brazo Floor.
Questions We Hear Most
How is Superlight Floor different from a classic arc or swing-arm floor lamp?
It does the same job with a fraction of the visual weight. There are no springs or heavy counterweights in sight, just a slim aluminum line that pivots on three axes and holds its position.
Is Superlight Floor good for long evenings of reading?
That is what it was made for. The 700-lumen LED is warm at 3000K, it dims all the way down, and the array is designed to cast one clean shadow instead of several.
Black or White: which Superlight Floor should I choose?
Black reads as a crisp graphic line, striking against a pale wall. White almost disappears in a light room, leaving just the glow. Both come with a charcoal felt pad on the base.
How much space does Superlight Floor need?
Very little: the base is 8 inches across, and the arm folds back over it when you are not reading.
Can I match Superlight Floor with other lamps?
Yes. The same design comes as the Superlight Desk Lamp and Superlight Wall, so a study and a reading corner can share one look.
What recognition has Superlight received?
Superlight placed Runner Up for Furniture & Lighting at the 2018 Core77 Design Awards.
