The Design Story

TOV Furniture designs pieces that bring boutique-hotel character into everyday homes, and the Leigh collection follows that approach. The material does the talking: velvet has a soft pile that catches the light.

Why You'll Love It

TOV rates the comfort as firm on its plush-to-firm scale, so you know how the seat will feel before it arrives. A seat 17 inches deep is room enough to sit and pull on shoes or perch for a chat. No tools are involved: it comes out of the box ready to sit in. With 3 options to choose from, it is easy to match it to your bedding, rug or wall color. The fabric is chosen to cope with everyday spills and wear, which makes it practical as well as pretty.

Made for Real Life

Rated for 660 lb in total, it is built for daily sitting, not just for show. Inside you will find plywood support seat support and fiber-wrapped foam cushioning. Keep it looking fresh by blotting spills quickly, vacuuming the upholstery now and then and keeping it out of harsh afternoon sun.

Where It Shines

It shines at the foot of a king or California king bed and entryways and hallways, or one side of a dining table. Set it at the foot of the bed to sit and lay out tomorrow's clothes, or by the door with hooks above for coats and bags.

Will the Leigh 56" Performance Velvet Channeled Bench fit at the foot of my bed?

At 56" wide it suits a king or California king bed (our guide: a bench roughly 60–85% of the bed's width; a full bed is 54" wide, a queen 60", a king 76"). Leave a few inches between bench and bed frame so it slides out easily (our advice).

Yes, at a standard 28–30" dining table: the 18.7" seat leaves about 9.3–11.3" between seat and tabletop (our guide: 10–12" is comfortable). Plan about 24" of bench per adult, so it seats about 2 (our advice); TOV rates it for up to 660 lb in total.
