The Design Story

TOV Furniture designs pieces that bring boutique-hotel character into everyday homes, and the Brno collection follows that approach. The material does the talking: velvet has a soft pile that catches the light.

Why You'll Love It

TOV rates the comfort as firm on its plush-to-firm scale, so you know how the seat will feel before it arrives. A seat 22 inches deep is room enough to sit and pull on shoes or perch for a chat. With 2 options to choose from, it is easy to match it to your bedding, rug or wall color. The fabric is chosen to cope with everyday spills and wear, which makes it practical as well as pretty.

Made for Real Life

Rated for 300 lb in total, it is built for daily sitting, not just for show. Inside you will find sinuous springs seat support and fiber-wrapped foam cushioning. Keep it looking fresh by blotting spills quickly, vacuuming the upholstery now and then and keeping it out of harsh afternoon sun.

Where It Shines

It shines at the foot of a king or California king bed, or one side of a dining table. Set it at the foot of the bed to sit and lay out tomorrow's clothes, or by the door with hooks above for coats and bags.

Questions We Hear Most

How comfortable is the Brno 53.5" Performance Velvet Bench?

TOV rates it firm on a plush, soft, medium and firm scale. The seat is 53.5" wide and 22" deep, filled with fiber-wrapped foam over sinuous springs support.

Which colorways does the Brno 53.5" Performance Velvet Bench come in?

You can choose Off-White and Black. Every option uses the same performance velvet.

What materials are used in the Brno 53.5" Performance Velvet Bench?

TOV lists velvet, with a gold base or legs.

Will the Brno 53.5" Performance Velvet Bench fit at the foot of my bed?

At 53.5" wide it suits a king or California king bed (our guide: a bench roughly 60–85% of the bed's width; a full bed is 54" wide, a queen 60", a king 76"). Leave a few inches between bench and bed frame so it slides out easily (our advice).

How does the Brno 53.5" Performance Velvet Bench arrive?

Partly assembled with instructions, in 1 box measuring 54.3"W x 22.8"D x 7.9"H, by free ground delivery. In-stock options leave TOV's warehouse in 1–3 days.

Can I use the Brno 53.5" Performance Velvet Bench as a dining bench?

Yes, at a standard 28–30" dining table: the 19.6" seat leaves about 8.4–10.4" between seat and tabletop (our guide: 10–12" is comfortable). Plan about 24" of bench per adult, so it seats about 2 (our advice); TOV rates it for up to 300 lb in total.

Why We Love It

We pick pieces that look as good in a real bedroom or entryway as they do in a photo. The Brno 53.5" Performance Velvet Bench does that with performance velvet, honest dimensions and a maker that publishes its specs in full.
