The Design Story

TOV Furniture designs pieces that bring boutique-hotel character into everyday homes, and the Angela collection follows that approach. The material does the talking: velvet has a soft pile that catches the light. Channel or tufted detailing gives the headboard its rhythm.

Why You'll Love It

The padded headboard turns the bed into a place to read, scroll or take a tray of coffee without a stack of pillows behind you. The slats are included, so there is no box spring to buy, carry up the stairs or hide under a bed skirt. With 8 options to choose from, it is easy to match it to your bedding, rug or wall color. The fabric is chosen to cope with breakfast in bed and everyday wear, which makes it practical as well as pretty. Underneath, a kiln-dried solid wood frame keeps the shape true through years of use.

Made for Real Life

Rated for 770 to 1100 lb in total, depending on the option, it is built for nightly use, not just for show. The headboard is padded with fiber-wrapped foam (TOV). The slats sit 3.7" apart, which keeps air moving under the mattress (TOV). Keep it looking fresh by blotting spills quickly, vacuuming the upholstery now and then and keeping it out of harsh afternoon sun.

Where It Shines

It shines in main bedrooms and guest rooms. Center it on the longest wall, flank it with nightstands and lamps, and let a rug run out from under the lower two-thirds of the frame.

Questions We Hear Most

What mattress does the Angela Performance Velvet Bed take?

Choose the size when you order: Full (54" x 75"), Queen (60" x 80") and King (76" x 80") mattresses (standard US sizes, our guide). No box spring is needed: TOV includes the slats. The slats sit 9" off the floor inside 15" side rails, so the mattress sits about 6" inside the rails: a 10–12" mattress shows about 4–6" above them (our guide). TOV lists it as compatible with an adjustable base.

Which options does the Angela Performance Velvet Bed come in?

You can choose 3 colors (Blush, Grey, Cream) and 3 sizes (Full, Queen, King). Every option uses the same performance velvet. Sizes differ by option; see Product Details.

What materials are used in the Angela Performance Velvet Bed?

TOV lists mdf, stainless steel, velvet, with a brush golden base or legs.

Will the Angela Performance Velvet Bed fit my bedroom?

The footprint is Full: 59.8"W x 84.3"D x 41.7"H; Queen: 65.7"W x 89.6"D x 41.7"H; King: 82.3"W x 89.6"D x 41.7"H. Allow about 24–30" of walkway on each open side and 36" at the foot so drawers, closets and doors still open, and check the headboard height (41.7") against windows and sills (our guide).

How does the Angela Performance Velvet Bed arrive?

Partly assembled with instructions, in 2 boxes (largest box 77.6"W x 11.6"D x 15.8"H), by free freight (LTL) delivery. In-stock options leave TOV's warehouse in 1–3 days.

How tall is the Angela Performance Velvet Bed headboard, and is there room underneath?

The headboard stands 41.7" from the floor and rises about 32.7" above the slats, so most of it still shows above a 10–12" mattress. Underneath, the legs are 6" high and the slats sit 9" off the floor, which is the clearance for storage boxes or a robot vacuum (TOV). The headboard is padded (TOV), so it is comfortable to lean against for reading.

Why We Love It

We pick pieces that look as good in a real bedroom as they do in a photo. The Angela Performance Velvet Bed does that with performance velvet, honest dimensions and a maker that publishes its specs in full.
