The Design Story
Rationalist architect Antoni de Moragas designed this lamp for his own office in 1957, when he was 44. A driving force in Spain’s post-war architectural renewal and the first president of FAD’s industrial design association, he reportedly tucked notes and business cards into the folds of the ribbon shade.

The shade is made of natural cotton bookbinding ribbon, and a thread along its edge casts an uneven, lively pattern of light and shadow. Three bulbs set in a ring under the wide shade give a generous, warm light, and a dimmer is built in. The solid wood column comes in sapele or natural oak.
Made for Real Life
It takes three E26 bulbs, sold separately (Santa & Cole recommends dimmable warm LEDs; maximum bulb height 4.5 inches). The cord is 88.6 inches long. UL-153 listed for dry, indoor locations. Wipe with a soft, smooth cloth; skip ammonia, solvents and abrasive cleaners (Santa & Cole’s care advice).
