OOLONG Teapot Trivet by Nina Thöming for blomus — A round silicone trivet with a matte stainless-steel ring and a ridged surface that stops pots from sticking.
Part of OOLONG, Nina Thöming’s silicone-and-steel trivets for the German design house blomus.
The Design Story
Thöming designed OOLONG for blomus’s tea makers, then gave it a life of its own: a neat steel ring and a ridged face that lets go of the pot. Thöming, an industrial designer at Germany’s Flöz Design, researches the everyday problem before she draws the answer, which is why her pieces for blomus tend to solve something small but annoying.
OOLONG is a small round trivet ringed in steel, made to sit under a teapot and look good when it doesn’t.
Why You’ll Love It
It protects the table, it looks finished, and the pot lifts off cleanly every time.
Made for Real Life
Wash by hand to keep the steel ring looking new, as blomus recommends. Pairs well with the boomerang trivet, iced tea brewer and glass carafe.

Why We Love It
Protection for your table and a neat finishing touch for a teapot. From a small town in Germany’s old steel region, the Blome family has gone from bicycle parts (1921) to metal gifts (1961) to the design label blomus (2000), still family-run in its fourth generation. LoftModern is an authorized blomus retailer.
