MODO Shelf Trays by Nina Thöming for blomus

MODO Shelf Trays by Nina Thöming for blomus — Two MODO storage trays sized for the MODO wall shelf: a rectangular black acrylic tray and a square smoked-oak tray.

Part of MODO, Nina Thöming’s coordinated bathroom accessory series for the German design house blomus.

The Design Story

Thöming made the trays to slot into the MODO wall shelf: two materials that let you warm up or sharpen the look of the frame. Thöming, an industrial designer at Germany’s Flöz Design, built MODO as a family: every piece shares the same slim profile, the same soft radii and the same finishes, so a whole bathroom can be furnished in one design language.

MODO treats the bathroom as one composition: round profiles, softly rounded corners and finishes that run from brushed steel to deep black and warm brass.

Why You’ll Love It

Small trays make a big difference: everything small finally has an edge to stay behind.

Made for Real Life

Wipe with a damp cloth and wash by hand, as blomus recommends. Oak is a natural material, so grain and tone vary slightly from tray to tray. blomus describes the titanium coating on the colored and metallic finishes as durable and resistant to scratches and corrosion. Pairs well with the MODO wall shelf, MODO makeup mirror and MODO toothbrush cup.

Where It Shines

It looks at home inside the MODO wall shelf under a soap pump, on a dresser for rings, or on a desk for paper clips.

Questions We Hear Most

Oak or acrylic: which shelf tray should I choose?

Oak adds warmth to a black shelf; black acrylic keeps the look sleek and monochrome.

Can the shelf trays hold jewelry?

Yes, they are ideal for rings, earrings and watches.

Will every oak tray look the same?

Oak is natural, so grain and color vary slightly from tray to tray.

Can I use the trays without the shelf?

Yes, they look good on a dresser, vanity or desk.

Who designed the MODO shelf trays?

Nina Thöming of the German studio Flöz Design.

When will my MODO shelf trays leave the warehouse?

In-stock orders usually leave within 2–3 business days.

Why We Love It

Bathroom accessories are touched every day, and MODO makes each of those small moments feel considered. From a small town in Germany’s old steel region, the Blome family has gone from bicycle parts (1921) to metal gifts (1961) to the design label blomus (2000), still family-run in its fourth generation. LoftModern is an authorized blomus retailer.
