The Design Story

Aleksej Iskos and Boris Berlin founded Iskos-Berlin in Copenhagen in 2010, and Knit-Wit is their 2016 answer to a simple question: what if a lampshade were knitted rather than cut and sewn? Each shade is knitted in three dimensions, so its shape and texture come straight off the machine and no material is wasted.

The knit gives the lamp a tactile surface that reads like a textile, not a fixture. Switched on, light filters through the pattern and the shade becomes a warm, glowing volume.
