Superlight Desk Lamp by Pablo is a single line of aluminum that bends, loops and pivots to put 700 lumens of warm light right on your work, then folds back as if it were barely there.
Designed by Peter Stathis and Matthew Boyko, it brings real task-light performance to the desk without the visual weight of a traditional architect lamp. Choose Black or White, as a table lamp, a desk-clamp version or a grommet-mount version.

San Francisco designer Peter Stathis is fascinated by how everyday objects shape the way we live. His award-winning designs are held by MoMA, Cooper Hewitt and the Denver Art Museum, and he has been a Pablo collaborator since the original Tube Top in 2006. Co-designer Matthew Boyko brought years of hands-on model making to the project.
The Design Story
Pablo Pardo founded Pablo Designs in San Francisco in 1993 around one idea: reduce a lamp to what it really needs. Superlight takes that idea to its limit. Peter Stathis and Matthew Boyko drew the task light as a gestural line in space, a precise yet playful structure that seems to defy gravity. The loops and pivots give it its signature silhouette.

It moves the way you think: every joint turns on three axes, so the head goes exactly where you point it and stays there. The light is warm, dimmable and casts one clean shadow, which makes long evenings of reading, writing or sketching easier on the eyes. Made for Real Life
The integrated LED is rated for 50,000 hours, so there are no bulbs to hunt for. The 9-foot cord reaches an outlet behind most desks, and the 120–240V rating means it can travel abroad with only a plug adapter. It ships flat-packed and goes together at home.

Where It Shines

Questions We Hear Most
What makes Superlight different from a classic architect lamp?
It does the same job with a fraction of the visual weight: one slim aluminum line with pivots that turn on three axes, so it moves freely in every direction and still holds its position.
Can I change the color temperature?
No. Pablo’s sheet lists a single 3000K warm white; you can dim it across the full range.
Table or Clamp: which should I choose?
Table stands on its own base. Clamp attaches to a desk edge up to 2.125 in thick and keeps the surface clear. Grommet mounts through a hole in the desk.
Black or White: which Superlight should I choose?
Black reads as a crisp graphic line against a white wall or pale wood. White almost disappears in a light room.
Who is Superlight not for?
Anyone who wants a hardwired light or a battery lamp: it plugs into an outlet on a 9 ft cord. A desk edge thicker than 2.125 in will not take the clamp.
