The Design Story

Sean Lavin designed Voto around one idea: put a real piece of optical crystal, not acrylic, in front of the LED and let the material do the work. The lens is cut from a single block, so the light passing through it refracts into fine facets while the top and bottom faces throw soft fans onto the wall.

The body is a die-cast cube barely bigger than a fist. Black makes it graphic, Satin Nickel keeps it cool and quiet, Antique Bronze warms it up against plaster and wood.

It is an ADA sconce that looks like a piece of jewelry. At 3.9 inches off the wall it passes corridor codes, the 3000K light is warm and 90 CRI true, and because it mounts horizontally or vertically you can turn the glow to suit the wall.

Made for Real Life

The LED is built in, so there is nothing to relamp for decades of normal use. The driver sits inside the wall box, which keeps the cube clean on all sides. Pair the 120V version with an ELV or TRIAC dimmer, or the 277V version with a 0-10V dimmer, to take it from a bright accent down to a night-light glow.

Which way does the Voto Wall Square throw its light?

Up and down the wall through the top and bottom faces of the crystal. Mount it horizontally and the fans go left and right instead.

Which finish of the Voto Wall Square suits a warm room?

Antique Bronze sits beautifully with wood, plaster and warm whites; Satin Nickel suits gray and white schemes; Black gives the crispest outline (our styling advice).

Is the Voto Wall Square bright enough for a hallway?

One sconce gives 424 lumens, which is plenty as an accent. For a corridor, space them 8–10 feet apart or add ceiling light.

Does the Voto Wall Square need a special wall box?

A standard junction box with enough depth for the small driver (about 3 × 1.2 × 0.8 inches). Your electrician will check this on site.

Can I dim the Voto Wall Square?

Yes. The 120V version works with ELV and TRIAC dimmers; the 277V version with 0-10V controls.
