The Story of CTO Lighting

Chris and Clare Turner founded CTO Lighting in London in 1998 on one principle: design lights of uncompromising quality, using only the finest materials and working with elite British craftsmen. Chris is an engineer who designs and builds with meticulous detail, and Clare brings the eye of fashion. Together they built a name for understated luxury in hand-finished brass, mouth-blown glass and artisan-cut stone, and the collection has gone on to light The Savoy, The Dorchester, St Pancras Renaissance Hotel and Chiltern Firehouse.

How It Was Made

The ring is hand cast in bronze and the inner face is finished in satin brass. A dark round base carries it, and the shade and diffuser are dove grey silk.

The lamp takes one E26 bulb, 60W maximum or an 8W LED at 2700K, and it needs a dimmable bulb to use the inline dimmer on the 78.7 in (2000 mm) cord. It weighs 11 lb (5 kg). It is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms. Dust the shade gently with a soft, dry cloth or a lint roller. Wipe the base with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Skip detergents and abrasives.
