The Story Behind Toulemonde Bochart
Toulemonde Bochart is a Parisian rug house that works with a circle of French designers, architects and artists, with craftsmanship perpetuated since 1949. Each rug is drawn in Paris and then made by hand, so the design comes first and the craft carries it out with care. Every rug is certified by GoodWeave, an international certification founded by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Kailash Satyarthi. It guarantees that no child labor is used in the production chain and supports social and educational programs in the regions where the rugs are made.

The Designer: Jean-Jacques Beaumé

A long-standing designer for Toulemonde Bochart collections, Jean-Jacques Beaumé reconnects here with his deep inspirations. Collages imbued with references to the masters of the Decorative Arts create a 1930s-inspired universe that still harmonizes with contemporary interiors.
“the decorative arts of the 1930s” (Toulemonde Bochart, on Silva)
The Design Story
Silva celebrates the decorative arts of the 1930s. Jean-Jacques Beaumé drew on the Art Deco masters and added a contemporary twist, with natural beige shades and warm juxtapositions that run through the patterns across the surface.
How It’s Made
Silva is hand-tufted in 100% premium wool at 46,000 knots per square meter, which gives a soft, luxurious texture and lasting durability.
Toulemonde Bochart rugs are designed in Paris and certified GoodWeave.
Why You’ll Love It
Period elegance in a modern format: warm beige with enough pattern to feel like a piece of art underfoot.
Care
Vacuum regularly with a brushless vacuum, treat stains promptly, and have the rug professionally cleaned every three to four years to keep the colors brilliant.
