Lámina Mayor LED Pendant by Antoni Arola for Santa & Cole — a line of light tucked under a thin, pale sheet of metal that lights the room mostly by reflection.
White-grey metallic sheet. 1,977 lumens. Designed 2018.
The Design Story
Antoni Arola designed Lámina Mayor in 2018 as the largest member of his Lámina family. The idea is simple: a strip of LED light sits beneath a slim metal sheet, and the light reflected off the sheet shapes the space. It is meant for big rooms, where that reflected glow can do its work.
Why You’ll Love It
The light feels calm and architectural, with no visible source. The sheet is a glossy white-grey metallic on the outside, so it catches the room’s light even when off. At 1,977 lumens and CRI 90, it lights a long table or a large living space properly, and it dims.
Made for Real Life
The LED strip is built in: 44 W, 2700K, CRI 90, rated for 40,000 hours. It dims with an external dimmer (not included; ask your electrician to match the system on Santa & Cole’s spec sheet). The cable is 5 m long. UL-1598 and UL-8750 listed for dry, indoor locations. It is made to order. Wipe with a soft, smooth cloth; skip ammonia, solvents and abrasive cleaners (Santa & Cole’s care advice).
