The Design Story
The Estadio family grew from the ring of light Miguel Milá designed for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. It also draws on medieval chandeliers in palaces and cathedrals and on functionalist industrial architecture, with glass block as its signature material. The 2015 wall version sets a crown of glass blocks in a tubular metal frame.
Why You’ll Love It
Glass block turns light into texture: vertical rays of light and shadow stripe the wall around the lamp. A white reflector and a translucent diffuser behind the blocks soften the glow, so it is atmospheric rather than glaring. It brings real architecture to a hallway or stair.
Made for Real Life
It takes one E26 bulb, sold separately (maximum bulb height 6.3 inches). It mounts to an outlet box and is UL listed for dry, indoor locations. It is made to order. Wipe with a soft, smooth cloth; skip ammonia, solvents and abrasive cleaners (Santa & Cole’s care advice).
