The Moon name is shared with one of the best-known Scraplights pendants, and the table lamp carries that rounded character down to the tabletop. The designer credit goes to Graypants Studio, the Seattle and Amsterdam practice founded by architects Seth Grizzle and Jonathan Junker, and the lamp is designed in Seattle, Washington.

Graypants lists Ancestry in Salt Lake City among its Scraplights projects, a reminder that this humble cardboard language works as comfortably in workplaces as in homes. Moon is the version made for a quiet corner of your own.

How It Is Made

The shade is cut from corrugated cardboard with care, assembled by hand using a non-toxic adhesive and treated with a non-toxic fire retardant. A brass frame supports it, and a black fabric cord with an inline rocker switch finishes the lamp. Hand assembly means each lamp is a little individual.
