MoM Glossy is the mirrored version of Penta’s MoM pendant, a blown-glass shade with a reflective finish, designed by Umberto Asnago and added to the MoM family in 2024.
It comes in 3 shapes (Tall, Slim and Fatty) and 3 mirroring glass finishes: black, gold and bronze.
The Design Story
MoM Glossy reinterprets the Venetian tradition with a modern twist. Penta describes a blown-glass body with a striking mirroring finish, inspired by the elegance of classic Murano vases, whose reflective surface gives the light depth and brilliance. Penta says the lamps reflect the surrounding environment in a magical effect, and can be installed individually or in clusters. Each one is handcrafted in Brianza, Italy.
The Story
Penta works in borosilicate glass, the same family of glass used for laboratory ware. It is resistant to thermal shock, expands only about one third as much as ordinary soda-lime glass, withstands temperatures of about 500°C (932°F) and stands up well to chemicals. Each piece is shaped by hand with burners, which is why no two shades are exactly alike.
The Designer
Umberto Asnago has given his working life to design and planning. After holding important positions at Giorgetti, he committed himself fully to design in 2006 and became one of Penta’s historic names. With his long experience and refined creative toolbox, he has created many of the iconic collections in the Penta catalog.

How It Was Made
Penta designs and builds its lamps by hand in Brianza, Italy, and backs them with a 2-year manufacturer guarantee from the Auralis Group. MoM Glossy’s shades are blown borosilicate glass with a mirroring finish in black, gold or bronze. The canopy is a separate item, offered by Penta in white, black or titanium varnished metal.

Why You’ll Love It

Bulb not included: Tall and Slim take one 60W E26 bulb; Fatty takes one 25W E12 bulb. The hanging length is about 161 to 165 in depending on the shape. MoM Glossy is UL rated. The canopy (Penta’s type A, in white, black or titanium) is sold separately, so please confirm the canopy with us before you order.
