Modulo Vertical is a tall, slim pendant, 66.9 in high, with glowing opal domes stacked along a metal stem and smoked glass plates, designed by Federico Peri for CTO Lighting of London.

It comes in 2 finishes: Satin Brass and Bronze, each with smoked kiln glass and matt opal glass.

The Design Story

Modulo was created for CTO Lighting by the Italian designer Federico Peri. It is built on a modular form: glowing domes spaced in linear configurations, with the light reflecting along an elongated, transparent glass disc and the metal frame that carries it.

The Story of CTO Lighting

Chris and Clare Turner founded CTO Lighting in London in 1998 on one principle: design lights of uncompromising quality, using only the finest materials and working with elite British craftsmen. Chris is an engineer who designs and builds with meticulous detail, and Clare brings the eye of fashion. Together they built a name for understated luxury in hand-finished brass, mouth-blown glass and artisan-cut stone, and the collection has gone on to light The Savoy, The Dorchester, St Pancras Renaissance Hotel and Chiltern Firehouse.

How It Was Made

CTO assembles every light to order. Each smoked glass plate is a kiln-cast piece, handcrafted and textured by artisans, and matt opal glass domes diffuse the light evenly and hide the source. The frame is solid metalwork in antique bronze, bronze or satin brass.

The Finishes

Satin Brass. Warm golden tones and a brushed, satin surface give a soft sheen that feels luxurious but understated. CTO selects the metal for its durability and beauty.

Bronze. Deep, rich color and a robust build bring a touch of historical weight to a modern room, with a warm, inviting glow.

Smoked Kiln Glass. Each smoked glass plate is handcrafted and textured by artisans. The deep smoky color and textured surface reflect and diffuse the light with depth and drama.

Matt Opal Glass. Opal glass has a soft translucency that diffuses the light evenly and hides the bulb.

Is Modulo Vertical dimmable?

Yes. CTO lists the integrated 27W LED as dimmable with a trailing-edge (phase-cut) dimmer, and DALI control is available as an option.
