Loci Ring LED Chandelier by Graypants, 48 Lights

Loci Ring is the 48-light member of the Graypants Loci family: an LED chandelier built from many small, precisely placed sources that together hold a long table or a wide room. Forty-eight integrated lights give it a generous spread while keeping it visually light.

Choose a black or white canopy. Ring is made to order, so every one is prepared after you choose it.

The Design Story

Ring comes from Graypants Studio, the design team behind the Seattle company founded by architects Seth Grizzle and Jonathan Junker. The company works from studios in Seattle and Amsterdam and is known for lighting that rethinks its materials and its geometry.

With Loci, the geometry is the point. The name comes from the mathematical term for a set of points forming a shape, and the pendants are placed at exact positions to describe one. The same system has been specified for hospitality and workplaces, including the Skyview Observatory in Seattle and District Winery in Washington DC, so Ring carries real project pedigree into a home.

Why You'll Love It

Ring is shown over a dining table, and the size of its light field makes it a natural for a long table. It is equally at home over a large kitchen island, a boardroom table, or a restaurant banquette.

Each of the 48 integrated LED sources is a low-wattage 0.4W light. The light is 2700K warm white at CRI 90, dimmable via 0-10V, TRIAC or ELV, with an input range of 120 to 277V.

Made for Real Life

Ring needs a ceiling that can carry a larger fixture and a dry indoor room to hang in. Bring in a licensed electrician early, ideally before the ceiling is finished, so the junction box and support are ready. The built-in LEDs mean no re-lamping, and compressed air or a dry duster is all it takes to clean.

Handmade for You

Ring is built to order for you, so every order is final sale, and we are glad to answer questions about scale, canopy and ceiling before you commit. Loci has been put to work at the Skyview Observatory in Seattle and in the Crowne Plaza Budapest lobby, and Ring is the version sized for a serious dining table or open room.

Not the Right Fit If

Ring is made to order and suits dry, indoor rooms. It is a substantial fixture, so it is not for small spaces where it would compete with the room, nor for projects that need a light within days.

Questions We Hear Most

How many light sources does Ring have?

Ring has 48 integrated LED light sources, each rated 0.4W. They are included, so no bulbs are required.

Which room size suits it?

Graypants photographs Ring over a dining table, and it works well over large tables, wide islands and open living areas. For small rooms a lower-count Loci such as Galaxy or Mobius may feel more in scale.

How do the two canopy finishes differ?

Black and white canopies are the same fixture with a different ceiling plate. Choose the one that suits your ceiling color and style.

Is Ring dimmable, and with what?

Yes. It supports 0-10V, TRIAC and ELV dimming.

Where can Ring be installed?

Ring is UL certified and rated for dry locations only, so it belongs in indoor rooms.

What is the lead time?

Ring is made to order, with a lead time of about 6 to 8 weeks for either canopy.

Can I clean it with a damp cloth?

Graypants recommends dry cleaning: a dry duster or compressed air. Ring is rated for dry locations only.

Why We Love It

Ring brings gallery-scale lighting to an everyday room, and its many tiny sources give it a calm, even glow.
