Loci Mobius LED Chandelier by Graypants, 36 Lights

Loci Mobius is a 36-light LED chandelier from the Graypants Loci system, made for spaces that deserve a focal point without visual clutter. Its integrated light sources are placed with the exactness the collection is named for, and the effect is a quiet, geometric sparkle overhead.

It is offered with a black or white canopy and is made to order, so you get a fixture prepared specifically for your order.

The Design Story

The name Loci comes from mathematics, where a locus is the set of points that make up a shape. Mobius follows that logic: the lights are not decoration scattered at random, they are points on a plan. The design comes from Graypants Studio, the in-house team of the Seattle company founded by architects Seth Grizzle and Jonathan Junker, who also keep a studio in Amsterdam.

Loci is modular by design. Graypants says its density, pendant count, drop lengths and overall dimensions can all be adapted, which is why the system appears in places as different as a Seattle penthouse (the project that debuted the first flush-mounted Loci canopy in 2018) and a hotel lobby. Mobius is the ready-to-order expression of that flexibility.

Why You'll Love It

Mobius is photographed over a dining table by Graypants, and it is easy to picture in an entry, a stair hall or above a wide console. With 36 low-wattage sources it is efficient to run, and the light is a flattering 2700K warm white at CRI 90.

It dims with 0-10V, TRIAC or ELV controls and takes 120 to 277V, so you can fit it into a residential scheme or a commercial one. The LEDs are integrated and included.

Made for Real Life

Mobius is happiest in a dry indoor setting such as an entry, a stair hall or a dining room. Have the installation done by a licensed electrician, who will turn the power off, test the circuit and check the ceiling before hanging it. Dust it occasionally with a dry duster or compressed air.

Handmade for You

Mobius is a made-to-order piece, prepared after you order, and every order is final sale. If you are weighing it against another Loci or wondering how it will look in your room, we are happy to help beforehand. The Loci system has been specified for a Seattle penthouse, District Winery in Washington DC and a Budapest hotel lobby, and Mobius carries that standard into everyday spaces.

Not the Right Fit If

Mobius is made to order and meant for dry, indoor rooms. It is not a good fit for damp locations or schedules that cannot wait six to eight weeks. If you want a single fabric or glass shade, this is a different kind of fixture.

Questions We Hear Most

What makes Mobius different from the other Loci chandeliers?

Each Loci design arranges its light points differently. Mobius uses 36 integrated LED sources in its own composition, and Graypants Studio designed it as part of the modular Loci system.

Black canopy or white canopy?

Both are the same fixture with a different ceiling plate color. White is the discreet choice on a white ceiling, while black gives a crisp contrast on lighter or darker ceilings.

How bright is it, and what color is the light?

The light is 2700K warm white with a CRI of 90. The integrated LEDs are included and the fixture is dimmable, so you can tune the level to the room.

Which dimmers does it use?

0-10V, TRIAC and ELV dimming are all supported.

Does a licensed electrician need to install it?

We recommend one. A chandelier of this type should be wired with the power off and tested, and the ceiling structure checked before it is hung.

How long will I wait?

Mobius is made to order, with a lead time of about 6 to 8 weeks.

Where can it hang?

Dry indoor locations only: dining rooms, entries, living rooms, offices and lobbies. Mobius is UL certified for those dry locations.

Why We Love It

Mobius proves that a chandelier can be rigorous and warm at once: an exact arrangement of light that still feels welcoming.
