Loci Galaxy LED Chandelier by Graypants, 36 Lights

Loci Galaxy scatters 36 integrated LED light sources through the air like points on a star map. It is a chandelier for people who want presence without a heavy shade: the glow is made of many small sources, so the room sees an arrangement rather than an object.

Choose a black or white canopy to suit your ceiling. Every Galaxy is made to order, so the one that arrives is built for your space.

The Design Story

Galaxy belongs to Loci, the Graypants lighting system named for the mathematical idea of "loci," a set of points that form a shape. The studio designs these fixtures in-house as Graypants Studio, led by founders Seth Grizzle and Jonathan Junker, architects who started the company in Seattle and now work from studios in Seattle and Amsterdam.

The system is modular and highly customizable. Graypants describes it as an arrangement of pendants positioned at exact points in space, and it has been used well beyond homes, including at the Skyview Observatory bar on the 73rd floor of Columbia Center in Seattle. Galaxy is the version you can order as a complete chandelier.

Why You'll Love It

Graypants photographs Galaxy over a dining table, and that is where it excels: the many small sources give a soft, even glow across the table and the faces around it, without a single hot spot. It also works well over a kitchen island, a reading corner or a wide stair landing.

The light is 2700K warm white at a CRI of 90, and it dims with 0-10V, TRIAC or ELV controls. The LED sources are integrated and included, and the fixture accepts 120 to 277V.

Made for Real Life

Galaxy belongs in dry indoor rooms: above a dining table, a wide island or a reading corner. A licensed electrician should handle the wiring and confirm the ceiling can support the canopy. With integrated LEDs there are no bulbs to chase, and a soft pass with a dry duster is all the care it needs.

Handmade for You

Each Galaxy is made for you once you order, which is why every order is final sale. We would love to help you choose a canopy color or think through where it will hang before you order. Graypants lighting hangs in hotels, restaurants and workplaces, and Galaxy is a way to bring that same studio level to a home, with the build quality that makes it last.

Not the Right Fit If

Galaxy is built for dry indoor rooms and is made to order, so it is not suited to bathrooms, outdoor spaces or last-minute installs. If you need a shaded, downward-focused task light, look to a conventional pendant instead.

Questions We Hear Most

How many lights does Galaxy have?

Galaxy 36 has 36 integrated LED light sources, each rated 0.4W.

Which canopy should I pick, black or white?

Pick the canopy to match your ceiling: white blends into a white ceiling, black gives a defined, graphic anchor. The fixture is otherwise identical.

Is the LED replaceable or do I need bulbs?

The LED light sources are integrated and included, so there is nothing to buy. The listing is for a 2700K warm white source with a CRI of 90.

What dimmers work with it?

Galaxy is compatible with 0-10V, TRIAC and ELV dimming. Your electrician can match it to the dimmer in your room.

Will it work with 277V commercial power?

Yes. The input range is 120 to 277V at 50-60 Hz, so it suits standard residential circuits and many commercial ones.

What is the lead time?

Galaxy is made to order, with a lead time of about 6 to 8 weeks for either canopy.

Is it safe for a damp room?

Galaxy is UL certified and rated for dry locations only. Keep it in indoor rooms such as dining rooms, living rooms and offices.

Why We Love It

Galaxy makes a chandelier out of nothing but light and spacing, and it looks as considered at night as it does by day.
