The Design Story
Lise Navne designed Donut in 2007 for her debut with Le Klint, taking classic cross-pleating to an extreme. The shade is completely closed at the top and bottom with polished metal plates that give the complex pleating a crisp finish.
Why You’ll Love It
Donut is sculpture as much as light: a fat ring of pleats that glows from the sides. Hung low over a table or in a stairwell, it is the piece people ask about.
Made for Real Life
Plan on a licensed electrician: the fixture connects to a junction box in the ceiling or wall. To keep the pleats crisp, switch it off and dust it now and then with a soft, dry brush.
