Kerflights P2 Felt Pendant Light by Graypants

The Kerflights P2 Felt is a slim pendant, 7 in across and 13 in tall, wrapped in soft PET felt on a powder-coated steel frame. It is the compact member of the Kerflights family, and it comes in 46 colors, so you can match it to a room or pick one bold accent.

Designed by Graypants Studio and made to order, each P2 Felt is built after you choose your color.

Color in a Small Package

Because the P2 is small and light, it is a good way to try a strong color. Hang a trio in Mustard over a breakfast bar, a pair in Sage beside a bed, or a row in Charcoal along a hallway. Neutrals such as Gray, Light Gray, Beige, Ivory and Fog stay quiet, while Coral, Scarlet, Hot Pink and Periwinkle are for rooms that want a little fun.

The Design Story

Kerflights is a Graypants collection of lamps on steel wire frames with shade panels that can be swapped and reversed, designed to suit many different settings. The P2 Felt is its softest pendant.

Graypants began in Seattle, founded by architects Seth Grizzle and Jonathan Junker, and today works from studios in Seattle and Amsterdam. P2 was designed by Graypants Studio in Seattle.

Materials and Making

The shade is PET felt and the canopy is powder-coated steel. Graypants describes the Kerflights shades as handmade, non-toxic and made with responsible practices, and the lamp is made in the United States. It weighs just 1.5 lb (0.68 kg).

Light and Cord

P2 Felt takes one E26 bulb, up to 15W LED (not included), and 2700K warm white is recommended. Dimming and brightness depend on the bulb. The cord is black or white, 6.5 ft as standard with 16 ft available, and the lamp is rated for dry locations only.

Any installation tips?

Graypants advises having a licensed electrician handle any ceiling wiring, switching the power off and confirming with a voltmeter that the wire is dead, and checking for hidden cables before you drill. Leave at least 12 in (31 cm) between the lamp and the canopy.
