Iride is a large LED pendant with a low metal dome and a central opaline glass diffuser shaped like a drop, designed in 2023 by Bellucci Mazzoni Progetti for Oluce.
It comes in 3 finishes: lacquered black, lacquered white and scarlet red.
The Design Story
Oluce, founded in Milan in 1945, describes Iride as a lamp that renews the archetypal dome with a contemporary language. A central opaline blown glass diffuser, shaped like a drop, sits in the middle of a minimalist metal dome. The light bounces off the shade and comes out softened, giving even diffusion and visual comfort. The inside of the dome is reflective white, with black or glossy red outside, or all white.
The Designers
Bellucci Mazzoni Progetti is the Siena-linked design studio founded in 2012 by Guido Bellucci and Francesco Mazzoni, first as BMB Progetti and renamed in 2023. They began in bathroom furnishing, especially taps and fittings, and now also work on lighting and furniture for indoors and out. Iride is their lamp for Oluce.
“Iride is a lamp that renews the archetypal form of dome lighting using a contemporary language.”

Why You’ll Love It
Iride gives indirect, diffused LED light: the central glass drop lights the underside of the dome, and the reflected light comes out soft and even. Its low profile keeps sightlines open over a table or bed.
Made for Real Life
The integrated 21W LED gives 3000 lumens at 2700K with a CRI above 85. Oluce lists this model as not dimmable. Wipe the lacquered metal with a soft dry cloth and skip abrasive or solvent cleaners.
