The Design Story

Penta says the Elisabeth collection was inspired by an astronomical play of hemispheres. The polished chrome halves talk to each other, creating volumes of light and shadow that fit easily into everyday rooms. The table lamp turns that idea into a small sculpture for a sideboard, desk or bedside, with a base in marble or in black chrome. Penta designs and makes its lamps by hand in Brianza, Italy.

The Designer

Carlo Colombo is one of the best-known Italian architects and designers on the international scene. He has worked with makers such as Poliform, Flexform, Giorgetti, Cappellini, Poltrona Frau, Cartier and Bentley Home, and as well as designing products and furniture he advises companies on strategy and curates exhibitions. His studio now works on large-scale projects around the world, from interiors to architecture, and his career includes several design awards.

Penta designs and builds its lamps by hand in Brianza, Italy, and backs them with a 2-year manufacturer guarantee from the Auralis Group. Elisabeth is made with polished chrome hemispheres, and the table lamp uses two integrated 8W LED sources.
