Cubie Multi, crystal blocks assembled into a ceiling constellation

Cubie Multi repeats a hand-molded crystal cube across one canopy. At 3 lights it is a compact cluster; at 36 it becomes a hanging field of facets, filling a stair void or a lobby with fragments of reflected light.

The cubes come in Amber, Clear or Smoke, so the whole installation can lean golden, prismatic or inky.

The designer and the story

Filipe Lisboa began in Portugal, moved into lighting and founded Viso in 1999. Cubie sits in Viso's Origins collection, and Viso builds custom clusters and drops around it. Related Viso projects include private residences in Ottawa, Omaha and Philadelphia.

Where it works

Over a long dining table, descending a stair, or in a tall entry where the cluster can fill vertical space. The smaller clusters suit a round table or a reading corner.

Who this is not for

Cubie Multi is decorative ambient light. It is not task lighting, and the largest clusters need careful planning with an installer for weight and layout.

What are the cubes made of?

Viso describes hand-molded crystal bodies with a chrome metal canopy and metal details.

What does the cluster look like lit?

Each cube refracts its lamp, so a cluster reads as a field of sparkling points. Amber warms the effect, Clear is brightest, Smoke is moodiest.

How do I choose between Amber, Clear and Smoke?

Amber suits warm timber and brass, Clear suits pale rooms and glass, and Smoke suits dark walls and stone. Look at the room's dominant tone and pick the color that deepens or lifts it.

How do I keep it clean?

Our advice: dust the cubes with a soft cloth when cool and clean fingerprints with a lightly damp lint-free cloth. Viso does not publish care instructions for Cubie.

What should I confirm before ordering?

The color, the cluster size, and the 106 inch overall drop for your ceiling height. Ask us about custom clusters before ordering if your space is unusual.
