Meet the Designer
Designed by
Pablo Studio
Pablo Studio is a tight-knit San Francisco team that picks one idea, refines it and strips it down to its essence. Their goal: objects that feel personal and a little surprising every time you use them.
The Design Story
Pablo Pardo founded Pablo Designs in San Francisco in 1993, and Contour shows the studio’s talent for reinventing a familiar object. Instead of a shade around a bulb, Contour is an open frame of remarkably slender formed aluminum with LEDs set flush into its inner edge. Light washes vertically across a lining of hardwood or woven fabric, and you can see straight through the lamp to the room beyond. It is a lamp, a frame for the view and a small shelf for your things all at once.
Why You’ll Love It
It gives a nightstand presence without bulk. Because you can see through the frame, it never crowds a small room, and the wood or fabric lining makes the light feel warm and soft. Charge your phone at its base and dim it for bedtime.
Made for Real Life
Full-range dimming, an 8-foot cord and a USB port. The integrated LEDs are rated for 50,000 hours.
