Ceres Uplighter is a large ring pendant in bronze that sends its light upward, made by CTO Lighting of London. It is 39.2 in across and lights the ceiling above it.

The Design Story

Ceres draws on NASA’s Dawn findings at Ceres, the dwarf planet, where light elements were discovered. CTO turned that into a celestial take on the contemporary chandelier, pairing precision engineering with artisanal craft.

The Story of CTO Lighting

Chris and Clare Turner founded CTO Lighting in London in 1998 on one principle: design lights of uncompromising quality, using only the finest materials and working with elite British craftsmen. Chris is an engineer who designs and builds with meticulous detail, and Clare brings the eye of fashion. How It Was Made

CTO assembles every light to order. The ring is made in solid metalwork in antique bronze or bronze, with integrated LEDs.

The 110-130V version has an integrated 110W LED at 2700K, dimmable with a trailing-edge (phase-cut) dimmer. At 33.1 lb it is lighter than the Ceres Pendant, but the ceiling fixing must still carry the weight. Dust with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth and avoid abrasives.

They are the two canopy options for the same light. The plate is a flat 7.1 in (180 mm) square, with the LED driver in the ceiling cavity. The rose is a 9.4 in (240 mm) square canopy, 2.6 in (65 mm) deep, and holds the driver itself. The light itself is the same.
