Cascata is a chandelier of wavy kiln-cast glass panels that fall from a slim metal frame like water, made by CTO Lighting of London. It measures 57.1 in across, made for a stairwell, hall, atrium or a dining table.

It comes in 4 finishes: Antique Bronze, Bronze, Polished Nickel and Satin Brass, each with wavy kiln glass, and 2 canopy options: a ceiling plate or a ceiling rose.

The Design Story

Cascata takes its cue from waterfalls. The glass is cast to mimic free-flowing movement, with a graduated look from opaque at the top to clear below, and an ice-like texture that softens the LED light.

The Story of CTO Lighting

Chris and Clare Turner founded CTO Lighting in London in 1998 on one principle: design lights of uncompromising quality, using only the finest materials and working with elite British craftsmen. Chris is an engineer who designs and builds with meticulous detail, and Clare brings the eye of fashion. Together they built a name for understated luxury in hand-finished brass, mouth-blown glass and artisan-cut stone, and the collection has gone on to light The Savoy, The Dorchester, St Pancras Renaissance Hotel and Chiltern Firehouse.

How It Was Made

CTO assembles every light to order. Each glass panel is cast on a handmade mould, so every one is unique, and rectangular pieces are positioned to create a wave-like motion and a watery texture, finished with a wash of crushed glass. The frame is engineered without visible fixings.

The Finishes

Antique Bronze. Rich, deep tones with a natural patina. Each fixture shows the character of the material and the hand of the British artisans who finish it.

Bronze. Deep, rich color and a robust build bring a touch of historical weight to a modern room, with a warm, inviting glow.

Polished Nickel. A bright, mirror-like silvery finish that reflects the light and colors around it. Each piece is made by skilled British artisans.

Satin Brass. Warm golden tones and a brushed, satin surface give a soft sheen that feels luxurious but understated. CTO selects the metal for its durability and beauty.

Wavy Kiln Glass. Glass is cast on custom handmade moulds so that natural undulations mimic the rhythm of water, then finished with a wash of crushed glass for a graduated look.

Made for Real Life

The 110-130V version has an integrated 50W LED at 2700K, dimmable with a trailing-edge (phase-cut) dimmer. At 88.2 lb it is a very heavy fitting, so the ceiling fixing must be rated for it. Dust with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth and avoid abrasives.

What is the difference between the ceiling plate and the ceiling rose?

They are the two canopy options for the same light. The plate is a round 6.3 in (160 mm) mounting plate, and the LED driver sits in the ceiling cavity, up to 65.6 ft (20 m) from the light. The rose is a round 7.7 in (195 mm) canopy, 1.6 in (40 mm) deep, and holds the driver itself. The light itself is the same.

How heavy is it?

The Cascata Chandelier weighs 88.2 lb (40 kg) with either canopy, so plan for a ceiling fixing that can carry it.

How do I clean it?

Dust with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. If a mark remains, use a slightly damp lint-free cloth, then dry it with a soft dry one. CTO advises against detergents and abrasive cleaners on metal and glass.
