Briolette Smoke Glass Pendant is a faceted glass teardrop in smoke-tinted glass that sparkles softly, available for FreeJack, MonoRail and Monopoint ceilings.
The Design Story
Sean Lavin gave the familiar teardrop a jeweler's touch: its surface is hand-finished with semi-opaque facets, so the light inside is half-hidden and half-revealed.
Choose FreeJack to snap into Visual Comfort's FreeJack canopies and build clusters from one ceiling point, MonoRail for a track run, or Monopoint for a single pendant with its canopy included.
Why You'll Love It
Smoke glass gives a moodier, deeper glow. The facets make the pendant look like a cut gem.
Made for Real Life
The GY6.35 bi-pin (12V) lamp is easy to replace. Polish the glass now and then with a soft microfiber cloth. A soft, dry cloth keeps the metalwork clean. The cables can be cut on site to the exact drop you want. Pair it with an LED-compatible ELV dimmer to go from bright to candle-soft.

Sizing & Installation
A pendant looks right when the spacing and drop are planned. For the Briolette:
| Pendants per island | 6 ft: 3 · 8 ft: 4 · 10 ft: 4 |
|---|---|
| Height over a counter | 30–36″ from countertop to shade |
| Dining table | group two or three along the table |
| Ceiling 8 ft | drop 24–30″ |
| Ceiling 9 ft | drop 36–42″ |
| Ceiling 10 ft | drop 48–54″ |
| Cord | up to 80″ overall |
| Hallways and entries | 7 ft or more underneath |
| Ceiling | slopes up to 45° |
Numbers assume a standard 36″ counter (our math). It is hardwired, so book a licensed electrician. Low-voltage system: FreeJack, MonoRail and Monopoint versions.

Questions We Hear Most
What is the idea behind the Briolette Smoke Glass pendant?
Sean Lavin designed it so that it is a faceted glass teardrop in smoke-tinted glass that sparkles softly. It belongs to Visual Comfort's Briolette family.
Which Briolette Smoke Glass pendant finish works with my palette?
Our take: nickel feels bright and luminous; bronze is rich and moody.
Can the Briolette Smoke Glass pendant be the only light in the room?
It is an accent (about 330 lumens with the LED lamp), so plan a group or add other light.
Is the Briolette Smoke Glass pendant the right size for my space?
At 4.3″ wide it works alone over a small table or nightstand, or in a row of 4 along an 8-ft island.
Is the Briolette Smoke Glass pendant suitable for a bathroom?
No, it is for dry indoor rooms only.
Can I change the bulb in the Briolette Smoke Glass pendant?
Yes. It uses a standard GY6.35 bi-pin (12V) lamp, so replacing it is easy. You can order it with a 50W 12V xenon lamp or a 6W LED module (we ship the one you pick).
How is the Briolette Smoke Glass pendant hung?
Pick the system that fits your ceiling: FreeJack connects to a Visual Comfort FreeJack canopy (sold separately), MonoRail snaps onto a Tech MonoRail track with its adapter included, and Monopoint is a single self-contained pendant with its canopy included.
How soon can the Briolette Smoke Glass pendant arrive?
Most versions ship within 2–3 business days. A few antique bronze options are on backorder (expected around October 20, 2026), and you can order them now.
Why We Love It
Briolette is a gem for a small, bright cluster.
