The Design Story
Braque joins a traditional technique to a modern design. The base is hand cast by CTO's artisans, and its organic, undulating surface contrasts with the sleek silk shade. CTO calls it a tactile, sculptural table lamp that adds character to a room, and suggests side tables, consoles and desks.
The Story of CTO Lighting
Chris and Clare Turner founded CTO Lighting in London in 1998 on one principle: design lights of uncompromising quality, using only the finest materials and working with elite British craftsmen. Chris is an engineer who designs and builds with meticulous detail, and Clare brings the eye of fashion. Together they built a name for understated luxury in hand-finished brass, mouth-blown glass and artisan-cut stone, and the collection has gone on to light The Savoy, The Dorchester, St Pancras Renaissance Hotel and Chiltern Firehouse.
How It Was Made
CTO's craftsmen hand-cast the base in brass and leave its natural undulations in the surface. They then bronze and wax it to give either an antique finish or a solid bronze patina. The oval shades are handmade, and each has a matching top diffuser to prevent glare when you look down on it.
The Finishes
Bronze. A solid bronze patina over the cast brass, deep and warm, with a waxed surface.
Antique Bronze. An aged, darker bronze finish on the same cast base.
Dove Grey silk shade. A soft, pale grey silk oval shade that glows evenly and keeps the light calm.

Made for Real Life
The 110-130V version takes one E26 bulb, 60W maximum or an 8W LED at 2700K, and needs a dimmable bulb to use the inline dimmer on the 78.7 in black cord. It weighs 4.4 lb. Dust the shade gently with a soft, dry cloth or a lint roller. Wipe the base with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Skip detergents and abrasives.

Both use the same hand-cast base. CTO bronzes and waxes it to give either a solid bronze patina or an antique finish.

One E26 bulb, 60W maximum or an 8W LED at 2700K. CTO does not list a bulb as supplied.
Does the shade glare?
CTO fits a matching diffuser to the top of each shade so it does not glare when seen from above.
How do I clean it?
