The Design Story
Bola, Spanish for “ball,” is one of Pablo Designs’ most celebrated collections, developed by Pablo Studio, the small San Francisco team of makers and inventors led by founder Pablo Pardo, a Venezuelan-born industrial designer who started the company in 1993. Every Bola begins with the same elemental idea: a softly glowing opal glass globe, paired with a post, a mirrored disc, a ring or a shade, so the light appears to float.
