Berlin is a slim floor lamp with two thick metal ring shades on a tubular stem, each holding a disc of sand-blasted wired glass, designed by Christophe Pillet for Oluce in 2023.
It comes in 2 finishes: matt black with anodized brass shades, or all matt black.
The Design Story
Oluce, founded in Milan in 1945, describes Berlin as echoes of bygone eras reinterpreted with refined contemporary precision. The two diffusers are metal rings with real thickness and a slender profile, and each frames a decorative wired glass disc. They sit on a thin tubular stem and can be rotated 360 degrees, so you can aim the light where you need it.
The Story
The floor lamp is the two-shade member of a small family. Oluce also makes Berlin as a four-shade pendant, in the same anodized brass and matt black finishes. The floor lamp is supplied with a double switch on the cord, so the two shades can be dimmed independently.
The Designers
Christophe Pillet is a French designer known for refined, simple work. He is recognized internationally for hotels and boutiques and for artistic projects in the USA, Great Britain and Japan. His portfolio spans architecture, objects, furniture and art direction, and he has worked with companies such as Driade, Cappellini, Emu, Porro and Serralunga.

How It Was Made
Berlin is made in Italy in metal, with diffusers of sand-blasted wired glass. The two shades are integrated LED units with a metal ring in anodized brass or matt black, mounted on a slender tubular stem above a round base.
