The Design Story

Belu is a Besa drum shade with horizontal ribbing on the outside and an inner white acrylic shield. The shield hides the lamp and softens the light, and the ribs catch it, so the lit fixture looks layered rather than flat. Besa’s signature is the glass. American designers work with European craftsmen, every shade is made by hand, and each one is inspected in Ohio before it leaves the factory, so the small variations you see are the mark of a handmade piece, not a flaw.

Does the Belu come with a bulb?

Yes: a 5W replaceable LED lamp with a GU24 base is included, and it is CL dimmable. Belu is LED only; there is no incandescent version.

Is the Belu bright enough for a bathroom?

For a powder room, hallway or as a second light, yes; for a large bathroom treat it as atmosphere and pair it with vanity lighting. It is damp rated, so steam is not a problem.

What is the white layer inside the Belu glass?

An inner white acrylic shield. It hides the lamp, evens out the light and is what makes the ribs glow instead of showing a bare bulb.

Which Belu finish should I choose?

Besa photographs Clear glass in Satin Nickel and Smoke in Black; Bronze warms either glass. The glass is the same whichever finish you pick.

What does the Belu need for installation?
